A territory of value
The tourism model of the Valli del Vino e del Racconto (Wine Valleys and their Stories) is based upon the respect for the values of the place, the recovery of traditions, rituals, legends, the preservation of knowledge and the discovery of typicality.
Unknown aspects to be discoverd through paths of scenic, artistic and food and wine interest: the Strada del Recioto e dei vini di Gambellara DOC and the Strada del Lessini Durello, are two routes that embrace ideally all the municipalities, each offering an authentic glimpse of life, a charming atmosphere that takes you back in time, a genuine and extraordinary bond between nature and its people. The Valli del Vino e del Racconto thus becomes a quality brand, a certification of origin of the product, which preserves all the spirit of the territory.
Art – Nature – Villages
Walking through history that interacts harmoniously with nature and offers glimpses of unequaled beauty to be enjoyed from the top of a peak or in the heart of the town. Here, the alleys and little roads climb villages scattered along the ancient city walls as the Rocca Scaligera of Arzignano, rural churches such as the 14th century Immacolata Concezione in San Vito di Leguzzano, of Sant’Andrea in Cornedo Vicentino , buildings constructed by major artists such as the Chiesa Popositurale in Montebello V., designed by Giorgio Massari, or majestic places of worship that are inextricably linked to apparitions and miracles: the Lourdes grotto in Chiampo, the remains of Santa Bakhita in Schio.
The route is dotted with splendid mansions, towers and palaces that recall the ancient splendour of the noble families who have made development possible: Villa Porto in Montorso Vicentino, Villa Da Porto in Malo, whose columns, only visible element, are the largest ever made by Palladio, Villa Trissino-Da Porto – Marzotto in Trissino. Inside you can admire some of the most significant examples of 16th century Venetian mannerism, from Zelotti to Fasolo. Sacred art and popular traditions here come together in a unique pattern that echoes legends passed down orally from century to century , like that of Foscola , the young girl of noble birth grown at the service of God and killed by her betrothed, whose name was given to the wild forest of Castelgomberto.
